My name is Sherry Craig Retzler and I am the proud Owner and Licensed Massage Therapist at OBMT.  I am proud to offer you all the wonderful benefits of massage in a safe, warm, clean, stress-free environment that gives you the respect, honor, and dignity that you deserve. GENTLE healing for the mind~body~spirit... 

I do not believe in massage that is PAINFUL!  I believe in taking a few minutes before your massage to provide a relaxation and breathing exercise to relax your stressed muscles, my gift to you.  Relaxed muscles soak up massage... stressed and contracted muscles reject the full benefit.

Since you have chosen to reward your body for working so hard for you... for the next hour or so, you can LEAVE YOUR WORRIES AT THE FRONT DOOR and choose to design your own massage within the time you have chosen or rely on my skill.  And if it makes you feel more comfortable to bring your own blanket, twin-size sheets and music from home, I don't mind.  Just let me know before your appointment.  And I don't initiate conversation with you during the session unless you do, or if I find something I need to question or think you need to know.  And the last 10 minutes of your massage is conducted "face up" to allow the massage of the front part of the legs and feet, but most importantly, to allow your sinuses to begin to drain and to begin "waking up" for your safe drive home.

Therapeutic massage is NON-SEXUAL and can include work on the muscles of the head, neck, shoulders, back, arms, hands, legs, and feet depending on the time you have chosen.  Massage on the gluteal muscles and abdomen is wonderful and optional.  Or, if you're having problems with your back or have stress issues, the session can be designed to treat those areas only.  You decide.  Many people just close their eyes, listen to the soothing music, and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure or the temperature of the massage table adjusted for your comfort.  Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed to their comfort level, but draped according to State regulations.  The only area that is undraped, is the area that I am working on.  And lighting is low for your comfort and reduced eye-strain.  These are all your choices, your massage... it's all about YOU!

If you've never had a massage and you're not ready to make the clothing decision, then CHAIR MASSAGE is for you!  It is wonderful and you can get some of the same types of benefits as table massage.  I want you to feel safe and in your own comfort zone...

And I'm not going to rush you out when the session is over!  I like to ease you back into the world outside.  There is a clean restroom and also a relaxing area where you can sit back, enjoy a cool water to start the process of eliminating the dislodged toxins from your body, and take a quick snooze if you prefer before you go back out into the world...  simply heaven!

I DO NOT HAVE SET OFFICE HOURS.  Because I try to offer in-home appointments for my physically home-bound clients when possible, I offer appointments at the office on a "BY APPOINTMENT ONLY" basis.  Appointments are available Tuesday through Friday 11-6, and Saturday 11-2 by calling 256-698-7793.  Some evening appointments are available with advance notice for those who work during the day.

I have been thoroughly trained, educated, and licensed by the State of Alabama. I have furthered my education with instructors all over the United States.  Again, please understand that therapeutic massage and bodywork is NON-SEXUAL and should never be construed as a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment.
